Today, I will clarify a common confusion in the area of Facebook marketing. People are still not used to the modern era of advertising especially old entrepreneurs that are accustomed to traditional advertising contracts. Facebook requires very little from you in order to distribute your message in their platform. It’s going to cost you about two dollars to get 1000 people to see your message if you know what you’re doing.

Is Facebook Advertising a Fad or Is It Just Getting Started?

Well, things are continuing to improve. Today is Monday and I’m on my way to another couple of days of seminars this time at the Caribbean. It’s almost 6am right now, full of energy, ready for another battle, ready for another awesome week. I don’t know about you guys but I tend to prefer Monday’s or Friday’s just because you can produce so much in a week this day and era that for me Monday and Friday, it’s where everything happens then Saturday’s and Sunday’s I keep on working but usually by myself not with the entire team because my team does have other things going on for sure.
But today I just want to go over, I was just in seminars in the last couple of days, on Saturday, and there’s a very common question that people have when it comes to Facebook Advertising as I keep on realizing this whole phenomenon it’s still so new for most of the people out there. And that’s the phenomenon of overall just grabbing your hard earned dollars and putting them behind a campaign and just being able to distribute the message within a couple of minutes. If you guys think about that, this was not possible before. Before, you had to go for so many channels of approval and so many via’s in order to get a message out to a consumer. But today, you can determine that. So people ask me all the time and that’s what I want to make this episode all about. What does it cost to advertise on Facebook? How much money do I have to invest to get started? What is the daily budget? Does it work with minimum budgets? Lifetime budgets? How does it work?
Well, it’s actually really simple. I have companies that I work with that has spent $25,000 a day in advertising and then I have people that I helped that they have learned from me that they’re doing decent sell with $5. For example, like an Amazon seller, I do cover that on some of my training of course, to somebody that has an Amazon brand, if you do things correctly with $5 a day you can literally be ranking your product and be doing really well in the Amazon platform. That’s all. There are some ninja techniques about that. For sure you’ve got to know exactly how to do it and what works and what doesn’t work. But you know, as you guys know, those of you that are familiar with the Amazon platform, to win promotions on Amazon what they call giveaways generating sales velocity is what causes your organic ranking spike. So, when you do things correctly, when people realize also that they have within their arms reach, within a couple of clicks of a button, they have available so many people that they can actually control, to be able to do, get those guys through those funnels and help you with your ranking well.
For the Amazon guys that want to get ranked, there isn’t anything even closer like I hear people all the time going to, “Oh, I should try Pinterest. Or maybe we should go to Twitter. Or I’m going to go ahead and try Google Adwords. Or maybe I should like, I don’t know, I’m going to start some traditional media mail.” And I see all these stuff and I just laugh because this is the thing guys, you’ve been dealt this incredible royal flush of a hand in the game of poker and when you get that hand, if you guys are familiar with the poker game, that’s the best hand that you can ever get, you do not even evaluate whether you go all in or not, no matter how much money you got left because you know nobody’s going to beat you. So the same thing’s going on right now. We’ve been dealt with this incredible social media platform that gives us unlimited people. So we already have unlimited people and we can get them at incredibly low cost. Why do we look elsewhere? For me that’s just, again, obviously, it’s exciting because I keep seeing that, and I see people not being focused, concentrated in where the opportunity is at. I see more and more people getting more focused on it which down the line is going to make it more of an evenly priced platform.
But right now it’s still like at an incredibly cheap price that you can reach so many people. So what is the cost of advertising on Facebook? Well, it depends on what you want to accomplish, what would you like to achieve with your campaign. You can run all kind of different campaigns. You can have a branding campaign that is going to continue to position you on the eyes of people, in front of them. If you have a brand, and you are on ecommerce and let’s say that you’re only on Amazon, you’re not really building a business because somebody else controls your future. If at some point Amazon changes their rules you can’t go by the same strategies that you were doing successfully before. If for some reason you got shutdown or whatever it is, you don’t control that obviously. It’s all up to you. And you are going to be left naked in the middle of like a desert not knowing exactly what to do if you didn’t do a good job of branding your company, your product, your lines. So that’s what happens when you do Facebook advertising, you plant those roots and you plant them wide and now you control your own destiny because if something happens on Amazon then you still have off of Amazon.
Yes, right now today ¢50 of every dollar is being spent on Amazon but people are still building massive empires off Amazon if they know what they’re doing. So you’ve got to know what you’re doing. So for example, if you do a campaign and you’ve spent $5 a day or even $2 a day because when you run a branding campaign like for example a video view campaign on the platform on Facebook, then you can actually run this for $2 a day. As simple as that. The thing is that it depends on how bad do you want it. I myself am totally fine going really fast and I can go all out and if I have income, if I have profit, I put it back towards the same channel and I put it back towards growing my brand but some other people just want to start living the life and do another things, fine. But what I would say is just figure out how to put as much as possible back towards the branding of your company and positioning of your expansion of your roots as a brand.
So you can do anywhere from $2 or $5 to $100 to $1000 a day. It depends on what you can afford, what you would like to accomplish as a result. I have ran campaigns for example when I was doing promotions on Amazon, that after $2, I have already moved like a couple of 100 units. That sounds ridiculous right? Well, if you think about what’s happening in this particular scenario, people pick up the opportunity, let’s say their doing a 70% off or 80% off and after they pick out that opportunity, they use it themselves and then they go ahead and they share it and then it goes viral because it’s such a good opportunity. So now, you barely have to spend any money. So you’re using the power of social media on steroids which is basically word of mouth and now you get all the people to react and respond to what you’re doing. Now that’s in the case of promotions with big discounts. You’re not going to spend the same and get the same results if you’re trying to do a full price process, full price funnel. So, you’ve got to figure out what you’re trying to accomplish.
For branding usually you’ve got to spend some more and in general, you’re going to have a negative ROI, right? You’re not going to be able to get your money back. Return Investment is going to be negative guaranteed. Why? Because you’re just trying to put yourself out that you’re thinking about your future, you’re going long term, you’re doing the coca-cola effect like when you think about a soda today what do you think about? What brand sells out? Well, branding does work and is really important. So in Facebook, there’s all kinds of different campaigns. There’s like lead generation campaigns, there’s like video views for branding campaigns, there’s like reach so you can reach a lot of people campaigns, there’s you can take them directly for direct sells like on your Amazon channel, on your ecommerce channel or on your own outside off of Amazon and off on the internet world, you can do all of that. It depends on what you want to accomplish. But what you’ve been handed, is an incredible tool that allows you to reach the masses and you have an unlimited amount of people.
So, all you’ve got to do if things are not working out correctly you’ve got to understand that there are only 2 things that you’ve got to fix. Your knowledge on the distribution channels is one of them and the other one is your content. That’s all. If you fix your knowledge, meaning that you understand how these platforms work, how you can distribute your message in there, again it’s a big subject, it’s not something that you can learn in 10 minutes. You’ve got to put hours to it. You’ve got to put dedication to it. You’ve got to put weeks of work to understand how these platform operates. If you understand that, then it makes it easier for you to get resolved.
The other issue is the content. If your content is not producing response even though you’re actually pretty good at distributing your message then you’re going to adjust your content and that’s not complicated either. You work some more, you bring some people in, you create a podcast, you do articles, you take more pictures, you do more videos, you know whatever it is, you figure something out so you can produce content. But those are 2 separate segments of your business. Content creation has to be handled separately. You’ve got to push on making good content, along the way it improves. When I started doing seminars, I didn’t think it I was a good seminar as myself. And then I started improving along the way and I got better and it got easier and I started blowing people away more and more and more.
So, it’s a skill that you get developed along the way. It happens just like riding a bicycle. So content distribution and content. Two separate things. If you think that for example you’ve been doing posts on social media for two years and they don’t work, I want you to think about that again because posts on social media are not distribution. Putting 5 publications on your Facebook Page is not distribution. Distribution is grabbing a piece of content and using it on your business manager on Facebook and putting it out there on social media for people to find it using advanced targeting skills, finding the right people, writing the right messages, correct call to actions, doing all kinds of things that you can invent and make up to be able to like pull that attention in. That’s what you’re trying to do by learning the distribution channels. But what I would say to you guys is that put your attention on 1 platform. If you’re really good at something already, like let’s say for example that you’ve actually mastered the art of Pinterest ads, okay, go ahead and focus on that and become a master at it. My obsession is ofcourse on Facebook.
Right now, I have for example on my agency, I do all kinds of things. I do anything from email marketing using Infusionsoft to YouTube SEO and Google Adwords and we use Snapchat Ads and Pinterest Ads, we use all of that. But 90% of my resources and my energy I invested on the greatest social media platform in history because it’s so powerful. And because it entails its incredible company that composes a family of apps like Instagram and Messenger and it’s incredibly strong when it comes to targeting your right people and you can do more and more with it every single time that you learn a little bit more about it. Every single day I realize how much I don’t know about it yet, every single day. So, just like there’s this doctor surgeon that spent probably a decade studying about how to do heart surgery, trust me you can learn a lot on the Facebook Advertising world especially as it keeps on evolving and changing and optimizing and getting better and along the way it becomes as an incredible source of distribution that you can get your messages across to.
So guys, what is the minimum budget on Facebook Advertising? You can do anywhere from $2 a day to $5. Some campaigns require $2, some campaigns require $5. You’ve got to find out along the way as you saw the option it will tell you. You don’t have to get into long term contracts that you used to. I don’t know if you guys have been in business long enough. I know I have. I remember having just signed $350 a month contracts with magazines that never gave me any return and I remember my dad signing $10,000 a month television contracts that didn’t get him positive ROI either and you’ve got no choice because you’ve got to spend that money.
So I remember going through that and a lot of you guys also do remember that. It’s a different era. Right now if you have $5 in your pocket you can just put them on your bank account or on your Paypal and connect it with your Facebook Business Manager and you can start doing some advertising and start getting on pace towards achieving your goals. This is all about just getting started. If you figure out a way to get started then everything becomes easier. The first step is the hardest one, start, going out there, building a campaign, putting $5 behind, testing the waters, and see what happens with it. So if you haven’t done it yet, go to Business Manager and do it guys. I mean, you’re going to go to Starbucks and get a Mocha Frappuccino with an extra whip or whatever it is that you are into, not me, and get all that stuff and you’re going to have to pay $4 or $5 for that. So you have a chance to change the lives of a few people by your company being something that provides value to them and education you should jump in and take advantage to that and go ahead and make a difference. That’s what it’s all about, trying to make a difference to the world and use our products and services to improve the people’s lives.
