Let’s face it, you can do a lot of things.
And you’re probably great at most of them. But, if you were anything like me when I was getting started in business, you realize there aren’t enough minutes in the day.
I’ll tell you a quick story…
When I started my journey and built my first brand on Amazon, I was still working a day job.
Maybe you can relate.
I would work 10 to 12 hours a day and then come home and another 4 to 6 hours on my business. It was common for me to be up until 2 AM and get up at 6 AM.
I first realized that I would soon burn out if I didn’t get the help, which meant I would be no good to my job, my new business, or my family.
I told my business partner we needed to build a team.
By the way, building a team is about more than just taking overflow tasks off of you. It’s about filling gaps.
If you constantly find yourself the smartest person in the room, you either don’t deliver the best service possible or you have an ego that’s going to make your business and personal growth stall.
And if growth stalls, then you end up shrinking, relatively speaking.
And trust me, it’s much easier to hire good people with skills that surpass your own in various areas than it is to learn everything about every area of business.
If you want to really grow and expand your business, build a team and learn to lead and organize that team.
Delegate tasks and let go of the need to be the smartest person in the room.
It’s not about making yourself feel good or impressing others with your intellect. It’s about building a successful business.
And that takes a team of talented, dedicated people working together towards a common goal.
So if you find the correct people to surround yourself with, there will be no limit to what you can achieve.
Over time you will accumulate individuals from all walks of life that have a shared vision as yours and similar goals.
The key is to stay focused on what you want to achieve and not get sidetracked by other people’s agendas.
Keep your eye on the prize, and you will find the right people to help you get there.
The more focused you lead, the more your team will follow like metals attached to a magnet.
Be the best you can be, and success will follow.
This is how you become the smartest person in the room by knowing what you want and not allowing anything to get in your way.
There is no limit to what you and your team can achieve if you can do this.
