Is it crazy to say that COVID-19 has changed everything?
This horrible global pandemic has forced businesses to reevaluate how they do business and whether or not they can survive this undefined Coronavirus time frame.
More than ever, this is an era where building value and nurturing the client, customer or patient through conversations is vitally important.
This is where ManyChat comes in.
If you’ve been following me for any length of time it’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of ManyChat and the predesigned conversations I can create with it.
But, if you’re not yet familiar with ManyChat it’s a software integration that lets you turn the Facebook Messenger into an automated system that answers questions, provides education, and builds the relationship with people any time of the day or night.
If you want to set up your own account and get to know the basics, you can read my article What is chat marketing? Getting started with ManyChat in 2020.
If you don’t have a Manychat account stop right now go set it up, then come back to this article.
Now that you’ve done that or if you already have a ManyChat account I’d like to give you some proven strategies that I use for some of my biggest clients like Dr. Eric Berg, Daymond John, and Frank Suarez.
#1 Education First
Many people are interested in learning something about a new product or service before making a purchase. So, if you could personally provide facts and tips about the product or service they’re interested in that would go a long way in building the relationship and eventually making a sale, right?
The only problem is you can’t possibly talk to everyone interested in your products or services on their own time schedule, but you can program interactive educational conversations into your ManyChat channel.
One method of doing this is by creating quizzes and surveys in Manychat. For a real-life example, you can visit Daymond’s John Messenger channel, my hottest client at the moment.
#2 Offer FREE services
Who doesn’t love getting something for free?
Guys, people don’t usually buy from a first encounter and if selling is your first move with people who are new to you I believe you will lose the game.
So, why not start people with something free but meaningful to them like a mini-course? It can teach them new skills or reveal new opportunities to them creating a ton of value and goodwill without costing you much, if anything, to get it set up. See a real-life example with Dr. Berg’s channel.
#3 A Good First Impression
Your main menu will provide your subscribers with basic, but necessary, options that can help direct them on how to interact with your channel.
You can direct them to valuable information like free courses, surveys, quizzes, or recommendations. You can also provide them with links outside of Messenger such as your website or give them an option to contact you.
The main menu is a place to help your subscribers find important information not a place to try and sell them something.
#4 Make it Super Interactive
Time to let your creativity loose.
With the Flow Builder, you can give your subscribers different conversations and options that will guide them through various steps and keep giving them value to earn their trust in the process.
You should never feel limited in the conversation you can create in your ManyChat flows.
#5 Talk to Them Everywhere
It’s a great accomplishment when people subscribe to your Messenger channel, but now you will want to expand the conversation to text messages and email too.
This is important because on March 4th, 2020 Facebook adjusted the rules of Messenger marketing.
I did a full video explaining the changes, you can watch it here.
An effective way to get emails and phone numbers is by asking subscribers in the middle of conversations if you can provide valuable pieces of information through Emails or SMS.
One example could be if the subscribers are in the middle of a quiz or survey you could ask for permission to send their results via email or SMS.
It’s a good idea to remind them that the information they are going to provide will be kept confidential and not be shared.
