That skill is finding your ideal audience through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agmninjalab.com\/facebook-targeting-basics-sp\">Facebook ad targeting<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let me ask you a question&#8230;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What happens if you don\u2019t improve your Facebook ad targeting?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"giphy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/cRKRlRPewM9NQCXRvf\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><\/center><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Will you have to go into debt, borrowing money to pay your bills? If you are very clear about who your ideal audience is and how you help them I can pretty much guarantee that you can find them on Facebook.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8230;recent statistics show that there are more than 2 billion active monthly users on Facebook. So, with numbers like that, do you think you can find your ideal audience?<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The reason so many people struggle with Facebook ads is bad targeting.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To solve this problem, you must first start by knowing as much as possible about your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agmninjalab.com\/facebook-targeting-basics-sp\">ideal audience.<\/a> In fact, it might help to think about who your ideal client, customer, or patient is instead of thinking in terms of audience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ask yourself questions like:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How old are they?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are they a man, woman, or do they prefer not to answer that?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are they in a relationship? If so, what kind?\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do they live in a specific area?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Does your ideal person watch T.V.? What are their favorite shows?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are there celebrities, influencers, or personalities they like to follow?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s a powerful question to ask yourself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What will make your ideal person stop scrolling through the Facebook or Instagram feed and look at your ad?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By the way, those bullet points above are by no means an exhaustive list of questions or personality traits you can focus on, but it will get you headed in the right direction.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Facebook audience insight tool is a great place to start your research.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manuelsuareztraining.com\/coaching-relaunch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8349\" src=\"https:\/\/manuelsuarez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Finding-Your-Audience-Using-the-Facebook-Business-Manager-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"426\" height=\"422\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maybe you\u2019re not sure about the answers to some of the questions above when it comes to ages, locations, man, woman, or relationship status. But, you know your ideal person likes certain things. If this is the case, you can do further research with the Facebook Audience Insight tool.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s say your ideal person likes fishing for example. Go to Facebook\u2019s Audience Insights page and type in fishing in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interest<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> space on the left-hand side of the page.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on demographics at the top of the page and we see that 57% of men on Facebook like fishing compared to 43% of women. The two most populated age ranges are 25-34 and 35-44, with the 45-64 year old categories coming in a close second.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can see that 56% of people who like fishing are married and 59% of them have some college education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, click on the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Page Likes<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab. We can see the top 10 categories and pages that fishing people like. This includes helpful information on highly connected brands, stores, and personalities that our fishing people enjoy following.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A look at the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Location<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab shows us areas that our selected people are more likely to be concentrated in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Activity<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab can also give us some great information. Here you can see how likely our fishing fans are to click on ads compared to the rest of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agmninjalab.com\/facebook-targeting-basics-sp\">Facebook<\/a>. What type of devices they tend to use and how active they are with the pages they like.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, if all you knew at the beginning of this trip into the Audience Insight tool is that your ideal person liked fishing, you now have a much more detailed profile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You could now say that your ideal person is a man between the ages of 25-54 who is married, likes to shop at Cabela\u2019s and Bass Pro Shops, uses his iPhone to interact with social media, and is more than likely someone who makes online purchases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s much better than what we started with, don\u2019t you think?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At this point, you may be asking, \u201cNow that I\u2019ve got this information, what do I do with it?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Head over to the Facebook ads manager.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manuelsuareztraining.com\/coaching-relaunch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11182\" src=\"https:\/\/manuelsuarez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/facebook-ads-manager-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"566\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll find the Facebook ads manager inside the Facebook business manager, located at business.facebook.com.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is where you\u2019ll start creating your ad campaign.\u00a0 When you start to create a new ad campaign, you\u2019ll see three primary options to choose from.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Awareness<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consideration<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conversion<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These three choices line up with the three stages of a marketing funnel known as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TOFU &#8211; Top-of-funnel<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MOFU &#8211; Middle-of-funnel<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BOFU &#8211; Bottom-of-funnel<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Defining the three stages of a marketing funnel.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>first stage<\/strong> of the funnel is the awareness stage or top-of-funnel. In this stage, you are getting out of obscurity so that your ideal people are starting to see your brand and your message.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>second stage<\/strong> of the funnel is the consideration stage or middle-of-funnel. Here you\u2019re beginning the process of retargeting and remarketing to the portion of your ideal audience that has interacted with you and your brand in some way.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>third stage<\/strong> of the funnel is the conversion stage or bottom-of-funnel. By this point, most of the \u201ctire kickers\u201d have dropped out of your funnel leaving the people who are most interested in what you have to say and offer.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on those definitions, let\u2019s figure out where our example audience of fishing fans fall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you create an audience the way we did above, it\u2019s what we call a core audience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This core audience is often associated with TOFU or top-of-funnel marketing. If you think about it, at this level of our marketing funnel we\u2019re doing exactly what our example audience of fishing fans do. We are casting a wide net and testing different bait to get the most people to interact with us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is one of the most important aspects of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agmninjalab.com\/facebook-targeting-basics-sp\">Facebook ads targeting<\/a>, knowing where to start. I mean, our fans of fishing aren\u2019t going to throw their nets and bait on dry land, right? No way! There are no fish on the dry land.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The same goes for our TOFU targeting. If we just throw our marketing net and bait on to the equivalent of dry marketing land, we would be fools. Remember, you should only fish where there are fish. So, when you start your marketing with the right core audience you\u2019ll begin attracting the right people.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And attracting the right people through your core audience is where your success begins. That skill is finding your ideal audience through Facebook ad targeting.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let me ask you a question...\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What happens if you don\u2019t improve your Facebook ad targeting?<\/span><\/h2><p><iframe class=\"giphy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/cRKRlRPewM9NQCXRvf\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\"><\/span><\/iframe><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Will you have to go into debt, borrowing money to pay your bills? Would you have to let go of employees that you care about? What if you had to close down the whole business?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pretty scary thoughts, right?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Business life doesn\u2019t have to be such a feast or famine experience. If you are very clear about who your ideal audience is and how you help them I can pretty much guarantee that you can find them on Facebook.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact\u2026<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">...recent statistics show that there are more than 2 billion active monthly users on Facebook. So, with numbers like that, do you think you can find your ideal audience?<\/span><\/p><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The reason so many people struggle with Facebook ads is bad targeting.<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To solve this problem, you must first start by knowing as much as possible about your ideal audience. In fact, it might help to think about who your ideal client, customer, or patient is instead of thinking in terms of audience.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ask yourself questions like:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How old are they?<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are they a man, woman, or do they prefer not to answer that?<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are they in a relationship? If so, what kind?\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do they live in a specific area?<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Does your ideal person watch T.V.? What are their favorite shows?<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are there celebrities, influencers, or personalities they like to follow?<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s a powerful question to ask yourself.<\/span><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What will make your ideal person stop scrolling through the Facebook or Instagram feed and look at your ad?<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By the way, those bullet points above are by no means an exhaustive list of questions or personality traits you can focus on, but it will get you headed in the right direction.<\/span><\/p><h2>\u00a0<\/h2><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Facebook audience insight tool is a great place to start your research.<\/span><\/h2><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manuelsuareztraining.com\/coaching-relaunch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8349\" src=\"https:\/\/manuelsuarez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Finding-Your-Audience-Using-the-Facebook-Business-Manager-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"426\" height=\"422\" \/><\/a><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maybe you\u2019re not sure about the answers to some of the questions above when it comes to ages, locations, man, woman, or relationship status. But, you know your ideal person likes certain things. If this is the case, you can do further research with the Facebook Audience Insight tool.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s say your ideal person likes fishing for example. Go to Facebook\u2019s Audience Insights page and type in fishing in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interest<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> space on the left-hand side of the page.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on demographics at the top of the page and we see that 57% of men on Facebook like fishing compared to 43% of women. The two most populated age ranges are 25-34 and 35-44, with the 45-64 year old categories coming in a close second.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can see that 56% of people who like fishing are married and 59% of them have some college education.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, click on the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Page Likes<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab. We can see the top 10 categories and pages that fishing people like. This includes helpful information on highly connected brands, stores, and personalities that our fishing people enjoy following.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A look at the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Location<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab shows us areas that our selected people are more likely to be concentrated in.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Activity<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab can also give us some great information. Here you can see how likely our fishing fans are to click on ads compared to the rest of Facebook. What type of devices they tend to use and how active they are with the pages they like.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, if all you knew at the beginning of this trip into the Audience Insight tool is that your ideal person liked fishing, you now have a much more detailed profile.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You could now say that your ideal person is a man between the ages of 25-54 who is married, likes to shop at Cabela\u2019s and Bass Pro Shops, uses his iPhone to interact with social media, and is more than likely someone who makes online purchases.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s much better than what we started with, don\u2019t you think?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At this point, you may be asking, \u201cNow that I\u2019ve got this information, what do I do with it?\u201d<\/span><\/p><h2>\u00a0<\/h2><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Head over to the Facebook ads manager.<\/span><\/h2><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manuelsuareztraining.com\/coaching-relaunch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11182\" src=\"https:\/\/manuelsuarez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/facebook-ads-manager-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"566\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll find the Facebook ads manager inside the Facebook business manager, located at business.facebook.com.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is where you\u2019ll start creating your ad campaign.\u00a0 When you start to create a new ad campaign, you\u2019ll see three primary options to choose from.<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Awareness<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consideration<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conversion<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These three choices line up with the three stages of a marketing funnel known as:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TOFU - Top-of-funnel<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MOFU - Middle-of-funnel<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BOFU - Bottom-of-funnel<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h3>\u00a0<\/h3><h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Defining the three stages of a marketing funnel.<\/span><\/h3><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The f<strong>irst stage<\/strong> of the funnel is the awareness stage or top-of-funnel. In this stage, you are getting out of obscurity so that your ideal people are starting to see your brand and your message.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>second stage<\/strong> of the funnel is the consideration stage or middle-of-funnel. Here you\u2019re beginning the process of retargeting and remarketing to the portion of your ideal audience that has interacted with you and your brand in some way.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>third stage<\/strong> of the funnel is the conversion stage or bottom-of-funnel. By this point, most of the \u201ctire kickers\u201d have dropped out of your funnel leaving the people who are most interested in what you have to say and offer.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on those definitions, let\u2019s figure out where our example audience of fishing fans fall.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you create an audience the way we did above, it\u2019s what we call a core audience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This core audience is often associated with TOFU or top-of-funnel marketing. If you think about it, at this level of our marketing funnel we\u2019re doing exactly what our example audience of fishing fans do. We are casting a wide net and testing different bait to get the most people to interact with us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is one of the most important aspects of Facebook ads targeting, knowing where to start. I mean, our fans of fishing aren\u2019t going to throw their nets and bait on dry land, right? No way! There are no fish on the dry land.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The same goes for our TOFU targeting. If we just throw our marketing net and bait on to the equivalent of dry marketing land, we would be fools. Remember, you should only fish where there are fish. So, when you start your marketing with the right core audience you\u2019ll begin attracting the right people.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And attracting the right people through your core audience is where your success begins.
