Millions of businesses found themselves forced to turn to digital marketing and social media to stay alive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And moving forward, it&#8217;s the businesses who understand the art and science of marketing on social media and strategy that will thrive in 2022 and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this article, we&#8217;ll take a 30,000 ft view of what marketing is, what a marketing strategy is, why it&#8217;s important, and how to create a strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let&#8217;s jump in&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is Marketing?<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019ve followed me or my agency, <strong>AGM Marketing<\/strong>, online for a while, you probably have an idea of what marketing is. However, I\u2019d like to share MY definition of marketing with you:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe forming of a brand, or a person\u2019s superpower, followed by the development and execution of a strategy for the dissemination and distribution of it. Because flying by the seat of your pants is no way to navigate today\u2019s multi-channel marketing environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s why it\u2019s important to put together a detailed report that outlines your marketing strategy for the coming year, quarter, or month. So that you can achieve the business results you want.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After all, failing to plan means planning to fail!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creating Your Marketing Strategy<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before you can create your marketing strategy, there are 7 crucial elements to understand that will help you create an effective marketing strategy:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Product:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> What goods or services are you selling?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Price:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> How much does it cost, and how does it compare to others in the industry?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Platforms:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Which channels will you use to reach potential customers?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Avatar:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Who <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">exactly<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> should buy your product or service?\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Content:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> What content do you need to produce for your audience?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Positioning:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> What is the perception consumers have of your product or service? Are there any unique selling points or offers to present to them?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>People:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Who, within your organization, will complete each task related to the plan?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you\u2019ve defined each of the above elements, in your own terms, it\u2019s time to get started creating your marketing strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nBuilding Your Marketing Strategy<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, you\u2019ll need to identify overall goals that align with your business plan. From there you can define a set of marketing goals to support them!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, you\u2019ll need to evaluate which social media platforms you are currently on and which ones your ideal audiences are on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The next step in creating your marketing strategy is to Identify Brand Assets. These are items you will use to execute your strategy. Competitive research is the backbone of a strong marketing strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After all, if you don&#8217;t know what your competitors are doing how can you be sure you&#8217;re offering a superior product or service?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, define what statistics are important and what success looks like for your marketing strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowing this can help keep you and your team motivated because you&#8217;ll be able to track your success!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will be especially important when you begin paid advertising campaigns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But, before diving into a paid marketing strategy, let&#8217;s think about an Organic Marketing Strategy first.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One that identifies topics, pain points, and questions that your audience may be interested in. Doing this correctly will help get your audience to engage with your brand!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s also important to list out any Additional Opportunities that could put you in front of your ideal audience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Opportunities like podcasts, speaking events, even using traditional media like radio and TV. When I say \u2018raises her hand\u2019 I\u2019m saying the person provided contact information in exchange for something you\u2019ve offered, often for free.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once interest has been established you can now direct more specific communication to this person about what she raised her hand about.<\/span><\/p><h1>\u00a0<\/h1><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>Why do you want leads?<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The whole purpose of a lead is to generate new business and sales for your company.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These sales are the lifeblood of your business, meaning if you\u2019re not getting enough people in the doors, or the metaphorical doors if you\u2019re an online-only business, you won\u2019t have a business to support your family and or employees\u2019 families.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, remember that I said leads are people?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re not getting these leads, these people, you can\u2019t help improve lives.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, if you want to support your family, your employees, and help people improve their lives then you want leads.<\/span><\/p><h1>\u00a0<\/h1><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>What is lead generation?<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lead generation is the process of attracting strangers who, most likely, don\u2019t know who you are and what your business does and introducing them to the solutions you provide.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then you need an offer to give in exchange for the contact information of a person to make them an actual lead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h1>\u00a0<\/h1><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>What is Facebook lead generation?<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Simply, it\u2019s using Facebook and its super-powerful advertising platform to perform the lead generation actions you just read about.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the great things about using Facebook for lead generation is that you can easily build interest through your posts. When you get to the end of ad level you will be asked to create an instant ad form.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img class=\"wp-image-11776 alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/manuelsuarez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/instant-form.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1354\" height=\"708\" \/><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you\u2019re creating your instant lead form you\u2019ll need to fill out or create several questions. First, you\u2019ll name your form and then choose whether you want more volume or higher intent leads. This choice helps Facebook decide who to show your ad to.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img class=\"wp-image-11774 alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/manuelsuarez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/create-form.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1164\" height=\"710\" \/><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, you\u2019ll be deciding which questions you want your leads to answer before you provide them the offer you promised in your ad. Generally, you\u2019re looking for name, email, and phone numbers.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img class=\"wp-image-11777 alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/manuelsuarez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/create-form-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1012\" height=\"698\" \/><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can rearrange the order of the questions. As you can see in the image above it shows email, full name, and phone number. If you\u2019d like the order to be name, email, phone you can do that. If you\u2019d like phone, email, and name you can do that too. Under the \u2018Questions\u2019 section on the left side, you can simply click and drag the questions into which ever order you\u2019d like.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After you finish the \u2018Questions\u2019 section you get to the \u2018Privacy\u2019 section.
